Grainger Net 30 — and Why Its Bureaus Are a Question Mark
Grainger appears on most net-30 lists with specific bureaus attached. When its credit department was asked directly in July 2026, it declined to name them. If you are opening an account to build business credit, that matters.
What we know about Grainger’s net-30 reporting
- $0 annual fee.
- Requires existing customer status and a D-U-N-S number.
- Bureaus: undisclosed. Asked directly, Grainger’s credit department declined to name which bureaus receive its data.
Asked by phone, vendor credit department, July 27–30, 2026 (Nav). Listed in our vendor directory, last reviewed August 25, 2026.
Why “undisclosed” matters
The whole mechanism of net-30 credit building is the vendor reporting your payments to a bureau. If you do not know which bureau, you cannot know whether your Grainger history will appear on the file your lender pulls — or on any file.
So when a list tells you Grainger reports to a specific bureau, ask where that came from. We could not get it from Grainger. That does not make Grainger a bad supplier; it makes it a poor credit-building plan until it says otherwise.
Alternatives with confirmed reporting
What none of these vendors can promise you
Whichever vendor you choose, including us: a vendor controls what it submits. The bureau controls what posts to your file, and what any score derived from it looks like. Nobody can promise you a score, a PAYDEX figure, a dollar amount of funding, a timeline, or an approval.
What a vendor can honestly tell you is its own process. Ours: we submit new accounts weekly and existing accounts monthly, to Experian Business. The full list of our limits is on what we can’t promise.
Common questions
Does Grainger report to business credit bureaus?
Grainger’s credit department declined to name which bureaus receive its data when asked by phone between July 27 and 30, 2026. Treat any list that assigns Grainger specific bureaus as unsourced.
What does Grainger require for a net 30 account?
Grainger requires existing customer status and a D-U-N-S number. There is no annual fee.
Is Grainger good for building business credit?
Grainger may be a fine supplier, but since it will not say which bureaus it reports to, you cannot plan a credit-building strategy around it. Use vendors whose reporting is confirmed.
What is a Grainger alternative with confirmed reporting?
Uline (free, D&B and Experian) and HD Supply (free, Equifax) were both confirmed by phone with their credit departments in July 2026. Peak Discounters reports to Experian Business: new accounts weekly, all accounts monthly.
Can any vendor guarantee a business credit score?
No. A vendor controls what it submits; the bureau controls what posts to your file.
