Summa Office Supplies Alternatives
Summa is not accepting new net-30 applications, and has not been for some time — but it is still listed as live across dozens of ranking articles. Here is what actually replaces it, sorted by the bureau you were trying to reach.
What happened, and what Summa was
Summa Office Supplies ran a paid net-30 account — roughly $75 a year — and was one of the more commonly recommended starter vendors, largely because it furnished payment data to Equifax Business and Dun & Bradstreet. It is no longer taking new applications.
The reason you are probably here is that a list told you otherwise. That happens because most net-30 vendor lists are affiliate pages that were written once, never re-checked, and never dated. A vendor closing its programme does not generate a press release, so a stale page can keep sending people to a dead application form for years.
Status confirmed 2026. We keep Summa listed and marked closed in our vendor directory rather than deleting it, so you recognise it when you see it recommended somewhere else.
First, the part most pages leave out
We are not the like-for-like replacement for Summa.
We are a net-30 office supply vendor, so we are the obvious thing to pitch you here. But Summa reported to Equifax and D&B, and we report to Experian Business. Those do not overlap. If your goal was specifically a PAYDEX score or an Equifax Business file, an account with us does not do that job, and no amount of wanting it to will change that.
So the sections below are ordered by what you were trying to accomplish, not by what we happen to sell. Where the best answer is a competitor — or is free — that is what it says.
What to use instead, by what you were after
You wanted the Dun & Bradstreet half of Summa
Because you need a PAYDEX score — for supplier terms, or for government contracting. You will need a DUNS number, which is free from D&B.
You wanted the Equifax half of Summa
Equifax Business is used by banks and is much harder to see your own file on than Experian — worth knowing before you pay for it.
You wanted Experian — which Summa never gave you
Experian Intelliscore Plus is the most widely pulled commercial score. Summa did not report there, so if this is what you actually needed, Summa closing may have saved you $75.
The no-fee way to replace Summa entirely
Uline + HD Supply covers everything Summa covered, for $0 a year.
Summa's whole proposition was Equifax and D&B for about $75. Uline furnishes to D&B (and Experian, as a bonus Summa never offered). HD Supply furnishes to Equifax. Both are free, both were confirmed by phone with their credit departments in July 2026, and between them you have Summa's coverage plus one bureau more, without a membership fee.
We sell a competing product and we are telling you the free option first, because you would find it anyway and we would rather you found it here.
| Coverage | Summa (closed) | Uline + HD Supply | Uline + HD Supply + us |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annual cost | ~$75 | $0 | $49, credited back at $250 of orders |
| Dun & Bradstreet | Yes | Yes (Uline) | Yes (Uline) |
| Equifax Business | Yes | Yes (HD Supply) | Yes (HD Supply) |
| Experian Business | No | Yes (Uline) | Yes (Uline and us) |
| Minimum order | — | None (Uline) / $50 per order (HD Supply) | Same, and none with us |
Opening several accounts at once is not automatically better than opening one. Every one of these is a real supply account with real invoices, and a tradeline only helps you if it is paid on time. Open what you will actually use.
One caution about vendors claiming SBFE
SBFE membership explicitly excludes trade credit providers. A net-30 office supplier cannot be an SBFE furnisher itself — we cannot, and neither can the vendors above that list it. Data can reach SBFE indirectly through a member institution, but that is a different claim from "we report to SBFE." Where you see it on a supply vendor's page, treat it as unverified until the vendor explains the mechanism.
If you already applied to Summa, or paid them
- Check whether anything was ever furnished. Pull your Experian Business file and, if you have a DUNS number, look at what D&B holds. A tradeline you paid for but that never posted is worth knowing about before you spend on a replacement.
- If you were charged and never received an account, contact the vendor in writing first. If that goes nowhere, a card dispute is the normal route — time limits apply, so do not sit on it.
- Do not assume the tradeline transfers. Nothing about a closed vendor's programme carries over to another vendor. A new account starts a new payment history.
- Replace by bureau, not by brand. Work out which bureau you actually needed — the sections above are organised that way for exactly this reason — and pick the cheapest vendor that reports there.
What none of these vendors can promise you
Whichever of the above you choose, including us: a vendor controls what it submits. The bureau controls what posts to your file, and what any score derived from it looks like. Nobody on this page can promise you a score, a number of points, a PAYDEX figure, a dollar amount of funding, a timeline, or an approval.
What a vendor can honestly tell you is its own process. Ours: we submit new accounts weekly and existing accounts monthly, to Experian Business. If a vendor will not state its cadence and its bureaus that plainly, that is worth noticing.
Common questions
Is Summa Office Supplies still accepting applications?
No. Summa Office Supplies is no longer accepting new net-30 applications. This page covers what to use instead, organized by which business credit bureau you were building.
What is the best Summa Office Supplies alternative?
It depends on which bureau you were after. Summa reported to Experian Business, and Peak Discounters also reports to Experian Business, so it is a direct replacement if Experian is what you needed. For other bureaus, see the options listed above by bureau.
Which business credit bureaus does Peak Discounters report to?
Experian Business. We submit new accounts weekly and existing accounts monthly.
How much does Peak Discounters cost?
$49 a year, refunded in full if we do not approve you and credited back once your orders total $250. It renews automatically each year at the then-current annual fee unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Can any of these vendors guarantee a score or funding?
No. A vendor controls what it submits; the bureau controls what posts to your file. Nobody can promise a score, a PAYDEX figure, a funding amount, a timeline, or an approval.
If Experian is what you need, that's what we do
$49 a year, refunded in full if we don't approve you, and credited back once your orders total $250 — on supplies you were buying anyway. It renews automatically each year at the then-current annual fee unless you cancel before the renewal date. Payment history furnished to Experian Business. No minimum purchase or activity requirement for reporting.
