Nevada LLC status check

What keeps a Nevada LLC or corporation in good standing, what happens if a filing is missed, and how to check your status yourself. Taken from the official rules published by Nevada Secretary of State.

Check your Nevada status

On the state’s own site: open the official business search (Nevada Secretary of State). Search your exact registered name and read the status field.

The way a lender sees it: a lender’s system doesn’t just read your status — it matches your exact legal name, your filing, your domain and your email against each other. Run the same checks below.

The Annual List and State Business License renewal are filed and paid together; a late license fee means the list is treated as not filed. The statutes use the terms 'default' and 'revoked'. 2025 SB 75 lets the SOS lower these fees by regulation; statutory amounts are shown. nvsos.gov pages were blocked by bot protection.

Missed it? What happens, and how to fix it

If a filing is missed

Late fees are $75 on the annual list plus $100 on the business license. The entity goes into default. For an LLC, the charter is revoked on the first day of the first anniversary of the month after the month the list was due (about one year late) (NRS 86.274).

Getting back in good standing

Reinstatement — state fee $300 reinstatement fee, plus the list fee and $75 penalty for each delinquent year.. Requires the delinquent annual list(s) and the business license fees owed. An LLC that has stayed revoked for 5 consecutive years cannot be reinstated (NRS 86.276). Reinstatement generally relates back to the date of forfeiture.

Why lenders check this before anyone reads your application

An automated know-your-business check compares what you put on an application against the state’s record. A status that isn’t active and in good standing, or a legal name that differs from your filing by a comma or a suffix, is a common silent reason for a decline.

Fixing your status costs nothing beyond the state’s own fees; you don’t need to pay anyone to do it for you.
